Creating a self sufficient lifestyle.

Creating a self sufficient lifestyle is not as hard as people make out, in fact it is really simple you don’t have to go big just a simple pot with tomato 🍅 plant will do.

For us though we are doing self sufficient on a larger scale due to our own isolation which is our choice, a growing family and a need for delicious food that hasn’t had chemicals poured all over them.

Our gardens need to be full of The microorganisms that increase the soils nutrient levels which in turn increases our lovely produces delicious nutritional values. We don’t have water from towns so we don’t have the chlorine in the water 💦 this ensures that we know exactly what we are eating and enjoying.

We now have two tall vegetable gardens, two short vegetable gardens and then the extra ones we’ve made from old bridge girders. In these we have a mix of compost we’ve made ourselves out of decomposed bails of hay, chook poo layers, cow poo layers, hay and river dirt from well the river of cause. This mix grows us plenty of our favourite fruits and vegetables 🥒 that we enjoy, preserve and share with our neighbours and friends. What we don’t eat and share gets put into our little honey stall for people to pay what they feel it’s worth to them.

We find these arrangements really satisfying and we have the added benefits of having our children interested in growing, cooking and sharing.

We will share pictures from time to time of our growing gardens, chickens, food and of cause our yoga and Honey products that we are making as a family and hope you feel inspired to start a little bit of self sufficiency, yoga and healthy living for yourself and your family.

If you just wish to live vicariously through us you can sponsor a bee hive, buy a plant, help raise funds for more gardens, or enjoy donating to the chooks food bill.

Enjoy the fun with us on the journey of The Yoga Hippy, Honey man, self sufficient lifestyle and fabulous nutritional food that we share as a family with our four fabulous children.
