I go through times where my usual diet just doesn’t cut it, all I want is a packet of corn chips and a large chai latte. My usual day on the plate is standard probably boring to most but very satisfying to me but, my body sometimes craves salt and/or sugar fixes which a nurse once told me to listen to. So don’t beat yourself up about falling off the wagon as everyone does, even the best do they just make it up with extra exercise when the down is back up. Life is to be enjoyable and in moderation so have fun with food and experiment but use portion control and keep a diary so you can see what you eat.
So my regular day on the plate goes,
Before breakfast there is 2x coffee this is around 6am
Breakfast smoothie: spinach, banana, Greek yogurt, almond milk, chai seeds, pepitas, sunflower seeds, hemp seeds and hemp oil, Goji berries, blueberries, raspberries, super greens mix, and a touch of ginger.
Snack: banana &a coffee
Lunch: ham &a cheese toasty & coffee
Snack: fruit 🍉
Dinner: lentil soup, Dahl, spaghetti Bolognese, whatever the kids will eat ( scrambled eggs )
So this is me on today at least and it’s lentils tonight.
But it is okay to diversify from your usual diet as long as you use portion control and don’t make it a daily bag of chips or a whole cheesecake, save these things for a treat not a daily nutritional adage.
Have a great week.
